Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig September. 21 in 1983) is a well-known American actress. She is most famously known for her role appeared as Shannon Rutherford from ABC's Lost television show, as well as Kim Mills for the Taken Trilogy. After the divorce of her parents the actress left Worthington Ohio in order to settle at Los Angeles. In 2001, despite her finances it was possible to land her first major role in the online video show Rachel's Room as the main character. The role she played of Martha Moxley, a 15-year-old victim of murder in the T.V. film Murder In Greenwich in 2002, earned her nominations for a Young Artist Award. Grace appeared as Shannon Rutherford on the Lost television series in 2004. The show featured her as the principal character for two seasons and won an award for her performance, a Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace was dropped from the series in the year 2005, to take on a more significant role in movies, and had a role opposite Tom Welling as Kim Mills in the film Taken. In 2007, she appeared as a character in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club and also, as Liam Neeson's Kim Mills as Kim Mills for Taken. Her role was reprised in Taken 2 (2011) and Taken 3 (2013).She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland, a modern version from the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace was Shannon once more in the show's finale and in two additional episodes. Grace appeared in Californication's 6th season that aired from 2013 to 2014. The role she plays is Faith, a groupie who serves as a model for celebrities and attracts the attention of Hank Moody (David Duchovny). She belongs to the Gyllenhaal family and is the older sister of Jake Gyllenhaal. Her first appearances were in films starring her father in his adolescent years. Along with her brother, she also appeared on the screen in Donnie Darko (2000). Then she appeared as a character in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind and Mona Lisa Smile (both 2002). Gyllenhaal received critical acclaim for her performances as the lead in the romantic erotic comedy drama Secretary (2002) as well as the dramatic Sherrybaby (2006) each of which resulted in a Golden Globe Award nomination. In 2006, she had several commercially successful movies including World Trade Center. However, it was her role in the role of Rachel Dawes that brought her greater attention for her performance in The Dark Knight (2008). After her successful performance as a single mother in Crazy Heart (2009), she received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. The following year, she starred in comedies and dramas: Nanny McPhee as well as the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) and Will Not Back Down (2012). Alongside her work as an agent of the Secret Service agent, she has also appeared on screen in White House Down (2013) as well as Frank (2014). Her latest roles included as the main character The Kindergarten Teacher The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). In 2021 Gyllenhaal made her writing and directing debut with the psychological drama The Lost Daughter for which she won an award at the Venice International Film Festival's Best Screenplay Award and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.
